“Re-Imagined” Art Exhibition by Singaporean artist Kumari Nahappan
Singaporean artist Kumari Nahappan is a prominent artist in Southeast Asia who good at multi-media art presentation. She will present her works from 12 November to 6 December 2015 in Hong Kong. Expert of International Contemporary Art Nahappan’s practice encompasses inter-disciplinary genres, including paintings, sculptures and installations. She has forged a reputation for effectively reconciling the language of “international contemporary art” with her own vocabulary and developing a visual identity that is decisively shaped by her cultural roots and beliefs. Her highly recognizable red chilli sculptures are personified and objectified as the generation of new life and embodying a plethora of untapped energies. She is renowned for her iconic sculptures and paintings at Singapore's Changi Airport, the National Museum of Singapore and the Singapore Art Museum. Her sculptures have also graced sites overseas including G Tower in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, the J.Y. Campos Centre in Manila and Chengdu International Financial Square in China. "Re-Imagined" is a unifying composition showing sculptures and paintings created by the artist over a decade. It tells stories of forms, energies and relationships that have linked together in time.
