LCX x Yum Yum The Happy World 2014

LCX has invited creative units from different aspects to create the LCX Rewards Card face, followed by an exhibition since 2011.  For his year, Yum Yum, the multimedia design studio from London is nominated to create a new character named Arnold for LCX.  Arnold, is a big furry monster who loves to shop. He has huge purple arms which are awesome for helping you carry lots of things. The Shopping Monster also has a little companion called Bert who is often seen hitching a ride. Bert is a little bit lazy. He enjoys drinking fresh fruit smoothies and taking selfie photos while Arnold carries him around the stores.

Yum Yum wanted to make a furry character for the Key Visual so it would feel friendly and cuddly. Arnold has the ability to change colours depending on how he feels, he is mostly seen in his purple colour but on rare occasions you might see him turn blue. He loves to hug people, so if you ever see him around LCX don’t forget to give him a big hug.

《French Times in Paris》French Clock Exhibition

While France is regarded as one the no.1 tourist destination in the world, few know that France is also the birthplace of mechanical watches in Europe and around the world. The long tradition of French mechanical clocks began in the middle ages as its development was sustained for Centuries with the support of kings and monarchs. French watch and clock manufacturers are now mainly based around the town of Besançon, in the East of France, close to the Swiss border. Watch components manufacturers supply world famous luxury brands with everything from precision movements and complicated mechanisms to crowns, cases, bracelets and straps. Combining technique with design in the spirit of French lifestyle, the “Art de Vivre à la Française”, some has a history dating back to the 18th or 19th century, while others, created more recently, are very much a part of the latest trends in fashion.

The exhibition will take you into a time tunnel by introducing us to the birthplace of the French mechanical clock and watch industry, its years of tradition, extraordinary talents, and how it continues to affect the world today. As one of key events of Le French May 2014, this exhibition invites the public to come and explore the history and tradition of French haute watchmaking, and first-handedly experience and appreciate exhibition pieces from Musée du Temps of Besançon, the Musée de l’Horlogerie of Morteau, and the Musée de la Montre of Villers-le-Lac from the Franche-Comté region. Visitors can view a selection of classical pieces, as well as contemporary creations by French watch and fashion brands. Collectively these timepieces demonstrate the history, traditions, expertise and timelessness of French horology.
