2 to 3 years old & their hygiene habits
Parents should teach their young children good hygiene habits and know how to take care of themselves are very important. When training time, parents should first set a good example for the child with self-discipline. Careful observation, personality training in response to the child, but also appreciate the child development stage, capacity development should be gradual, moderate and in a stable manner. Provide a safe environment for the child, supported by encouragement and appreciation will help children build good hygiene habits.
Habit of Brushing Teeth: Children should start enhance oral hygiene awareness when they are still young, to develop good oral hygiene habits to reduce oral diseases. In general, children starting at 3 years old can start oral health education. Talk to the child about having correct hygiene, brush teeth every morning and night time, mouthwash after meals, eat less sweets, eat more fruits and vegetables, no snacks before going to sleep, not picky eaters, allow the child to know simple oral health significance and knowledge.
Habit of Combing: For 3 to 4 years old child, they can start to comb their own hair, parents can teach their children self-motivation to tidy their hair, and kids develop good habits and the ability to organize self-appearance.
Habit of Washing Hands: Proper hand-washing can be said to be the most important part of hygiene habits, so parents should teach their kids to develop a love for clean hands in a right way, wash hands at least 20 seconds for bacteria elution. In addition to the usual wash hands before meals and after toilet, there are many cases need to educate their children wash their hands carefully, for example, wash hands after outdoor activities or after playtime.
Habit of Good Hygiene after Using Toilet: After using the toilet a good hygiene is very basic and most important health habit, but children might not do very well, it is very normal for parents to spend more time training. Parents teach their children every time after using the toilet, tear off the appropriate amount of toilet paper, then wipe in the direction from front to back, repeatedly demonstrate to them. In the training time parents should remain natural, if parents put on a disguise attitude, the child will get offensive to this habit.
Habit of Taking Bath: Children before 7-year-old are not suitable for taking bath on their own, but during these time parents can let the child know the joy in taking a bath. For example, having story time or game play in the water with them, allow the child to be relax and get used to and like the feeling of bathing in the water. Parents should carefully teach their child how to wash from head to toe, how to clean with soap, but to avoid stained their eyes. Play with them for a while, and allow them to get dry quickly with a big cozy towel.
