Miliaria & Sweat Rash
Miliaria also known as "sweat rash" are one of the most common baby skin problems, especially in the heat of summer, usually makes the baby feel very itchy, if their skin care is not protected properly, bacteria can take advantage breeding on the skin surface, the situation will be more severe, early treatment is the best.
Cause
Sweat rash is caused humid and hot environment, which the child is sustained a lot of sweat in the skin cells causing them to swell, this will lead to blockage of sweat can not be discharged. Miliaria can affect all age group, but more common in infants.
Symptoms
Different parts of the body's sweat duct occlusion, will develop different types of rashes, and some were white heat rash, but some will be red rash, particularly in the light-colored skin is more obvious. Heat rash usually distributed mainly on the face, neck, chest, back and buttock area. Sometimes child will feel burning and itching feelings, in severe rash the infected area will appears large and small pustules.
If the baby's miliaria does not improve within a few days later, or look more serious, or even have a fever, parents must take the baby to see a doctor for treatment.
Treatment
In general, sweat rash does not affect health, so there is no special treatment, as long as the affected area ventilated and keep clean, the rash area will be gone. If apply certain medical cream, this will only stop the itchy feeling. If the situation is severe, then there may need to use doctor's prescription steroids to accelerate the skin recovery.
Prevention
1. If the weather is hot, let the baby stay indoors, if do need to go outside, try to find a cool or breezy area, allow the baby to sit and play. 2. Pay attention to the environment at home and allow lots of fresh air to minimize sweating. 3. Maintain the environmental and personal hygiene, bathing every day, pay attention to sweat glands on the baby. 4. Clothing should keep soft and light, absorbent cotton texture and better ventilation, avoid wearing heavy nylon with poor texture and tight clothing. 5. Pay attention to moisture in the body, for example, drink plenty of water.
