Paddington Screening on X’mas

Paddington is a 2014 comedy film, directed by Paul King and written by King and Hamish McColl and produced by David Heyman. The film is based on Paddington Bear by Michael Bond.

The film was first announced in 2007, but no further development was made until 2013, when filming began and Heyman announced the casting of Colin Firth as Paddington. Paddington was created using a combination of computer-generated imagery (by British company Framstore) and animatronics (by Nick Dudman). Nick Urata composed the film's soundtrack. With an estimated budget of $50–55 million, Paddington is the most expensive film produced by the French production company StudioCanal.

Synopsis

PADDINGTON follows the comic misadventures of a young Peruvian bear with a passion for all things British. After a fatal earthquake destroys his home in the rainforests of Peru, a young bear (Ben Whishaw) makes his way to London in search of a new home.

The bear, dubbed "Paddington," finds shelter with the family of Henry (Hugh Bonneville) and Mary Brown (Sally Hawkins). Although Paddington's amazement at urban living soon endears him to the Browns, someone else has her eye on him: taxidermist Millicent Clyde (Nicole Kidman) has designs on Paddington's rare Peruvian hide.

However, when finding himself lost and alone at Paddington Station, he begins to realise that city life is not all he had imagined - until he meets the kindly Brown family, who read the label around his neck ('Please look after this bear. Thank you.') and offer him a temporary haven. It looks as though his luck has changed until this rarest of bears catches the eye of a museum taxidermist...
