Just like working mums, working dog owners constantly feel guilty for leaving their pooches home alone.

Even if you have a pedigree pet, who waits patiently and doesn’t raid the fridge/ attack the sofa/ use your favourite shoes as a chew toy, leaving them alone for nine hours a day isn’t ideal.

But now there’s a solution, a way to keep your dog happy and entertained all day long, and it comes in the form of a games console.

Yes, you read that right, a games console…for dogs.

Obviously (sadly) we’re not talking about Canine Call of Duty here, but as the name suggests, the CleverPet is an educational toy.

The ingenious gadget – which consists of three touchpads and a feeding pod – entertains, educates and feeds your pet all at the same time.

According to the CleverPet kickstarter page: ‘[CleverPet]…uses scientifically proven techniques to offer interactions that adapt to individual dogs’ needs. These interactions grow more challenging as your dog learns, and can take place even when you can’t be home.’

With an RRP of $279 (approx. £165) it’s not cheap, but we’re sure they’re going to fly off the shelves when they finally go on sale.

We just wish we’d thought of it ourselves.
